Green Technologies Are Changing Incumbent Industries

By

Andre Mech

Andre talks again on the radio with Prof Stephen C Armstrong, Professor of Innovation
Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, University of Toronto where Andre shares his insights on the topic, Oil And Gas Are in Competition With Electrics, Hydrogen and SCF (Sustainable Combustion Fuels)

For decades, oil and gas were really the only choice for transportation and heat, but it appears to be changing to a scenario where oil and gas are in competition with electrics (chemical reaction and storage), hydrogen and sustainable combustion fuels (SCF). Andre Mech, an Environmental Engineer who has been a climate change proponent for the past 30 years, returns to the show to complete “Oil and Gas Are in a Competition With Electrics, Hydrogen and SCF (Sustainable Combustion Fuels)”. Andre has been on the show many times, most recently in January 2020, “Disruption in the Global Auto Industry,” and again in 2021, “Green is Taking Off”. This show is an extension of the last show when we decided to continue this massive topic. For this second part, we decided to summarize the first show, try to predict the outcome in 10 to 30 years, take a closer look at new technologies, respond to a strong critique from a listener and look at how we could transition from now to the future state to help governments, companies and STEM professionals map out a path forward.
